This four-part online series is an invitation for women to reconnect with the wisdom of rhythm, presence, and embodied awareness.
Through guided rhythm practices, gentle movement, breath, and reflection, we explore how rhythm can support grounding, emotional expression, and inner listening.
These circles draw inspiration from traditional rhythmic practices and the grounding resonance of the calabash, creating a space where women can reconnect with their natural vitality and intuitive knowing.
Each session offers a complete experience on its own, while the full series allows for a deeper journey through rhythm and embodiment.
No musical or drumming experience is needed — only curiosity and openness.
Each workshop includes:

These sessions are for women of all ages who wish to:

African Rhythm - Grounding with the element of Earth
Our journey begins by connecting with the foundational pulse of West African rhythm, where the drum and the calabash have long supported community gathering, storytelling, and collective energy.
In this session we will explore simple rhythmic patterns inspired by African traditions, focusing on grounding, stability, and connection to the body.
Through an Earth-based ritual practice, we will invite a sense of rootedness and presence.
In this circle you will explore:
• basic African-inspired rhythm patterns
• grounding through body percussion and breath
• listening and responding within the group rhythm
• connecting rhythm with the stabilising energy of Earth
This first circle establishes the foundation of the rhythm journey.
Afrobeat - Awekening the Element of Fire
Afrobeat carries vibrant, uplifting rhythmic energy that naturally invites movement, vitality, and expression.
In this session we will explore playful rhythmic patterns inspired by Afrobeat grooves and allow the body to move freely with the pulse.
Working with the element of Fire, we will awaken creativity, energy, and joyful expression.
In this circle you will explore:
• lively Afrobeat-inspired rhythmic patterns
• rhythm combined with intuitive movement
• energising breath and body activation
• awakening creative expression through rhythm
This session invites women to ignite their inner rhythm and vitality.
Reggae Riddim - Flowing with the Element of Water
Reggae rhythm brings a distinctive off-beat pulse that encourages relaxation, flow, and openness.
In this circle we explore how rhythm can support emotional expression and gentle release, allowing the body to soften into the groove.
Working with the element of Water, the focus is on fluidity, listening, and allowing rhythm to move through us naturally.
In this circle you will explore:
• the characteristic off-beat feel of reggae rhythm
• rhythmic flow and relaxation
• breath and gentle body movement
• rhythm as a pathway for emotional release and expression
This session encourages softness, flow, and inner listening.
Afro-Brasilian Rhythm - Expansion with the Element of Air.
Our final circle celebrates the vibrant rhythms of Afro-Brazilian traditions, where rhythm, movement, and voice often come together in joyful expression.
In this session we explore uplifting rhythmic patterns and lightness in the body, inviting a sense of expansion and connection.
Working with the element of Air, we open space for creativity, intuition, and collective rhythm.
In this circle you will explore:
• uplifting Afro-Brazilian inspired rhythms
• rhythm combined with movement and voice
• playful rhythmic dialogue within the group
• expansion, creativity, and celebration through rhythm
This final circle brings the journey together in a sense of openness, integration, and shared energy.
